Death matches are brawls, where wrestling matches are...well...wrestling matches. I don't believe that they should be classified together because the art behind each of them is very different from one another.

Professionals look down upon backyard wrestling because of both the unsafeness and the usage of weapons. A lot of professionals have the idea that backyard wrestlers are only concerned with making the move they are performing/themselves overall look better than the person they're wrestling, which, in my opinion, is true for an awful lot of our beloved backyard wrestlers.

While reviewing the SWC 2009 Highlight Video, I've realized that most of the moves that were performed unsafely were performed by those who don't really have a great idea of what they're doing in a match. I'm a jerk for dropping names, but neither Lil' Ryda nor Quinn Carnage have a very good idea of what they're doing in a match. Don't get me wrong, I have seen good things from both of them, but they need a lot of work. Of course, they're not the only ones who perform unsafely all of the time. All of the "bigger names" in the SWC have their moments where they're unsafe, myself included (but only when I kick Ric in the throat, lo0o0o0l), but overall everyone is safe; I feel completely comfortable while in a match with mainly everyone, which says something, at least to me, considering before I came to SWC I was used to working strictly with professionals.

Death matches can be entertaining, but it's really only two idiots bashing each other over the head repeatedly with what ever sharp/solid object they can find. Personally, I am not the biggest fan of death matches because it doesn't take a lot of creativity to have perform one. (Yes, it takes a lot of courage, but so does running your foot over with a car, which also doesn't require a lot of creativity.) It's also just spot after spot after spot of hitting each other until you bleed more and more and more...there's no build uppppppppppkjsdfkjdsfnmdsjvfdjffdsI JUST LIKE ACTUAL MATCHES MORE, OKAY!?

My opinion is that SWC gets their dick sucked by a large portion of this website, and honestly i can see why. They have a bunch of guys that travel often and make friends with a lot of people and improve every match. Which is cool, but dont think you're better than other people. Deathmatch wrestlers like what they like for a reason, their art form is the same as yours, they just use weapons. Deathmatches often have psychology and creative spots, but because it USED to give backyard wrestling a terrible name people nowadays hate it, including me, but that doesnt give me the right to say he's wrong. SWC are overrated IMO, but most GBYWN regulars are all friends and you can see why everyone thinks everything is awesome. That being said, I still do enjoy most of your videos, and watch fairly regularly.

This video was pretty good, the blue effect amde a couple spots hard to see. Didnt like the song either, but no biggie. Insane spots throughout, although I do enjoy vids that showcase inventive stuff or difficult sequences and shit like that.
