| I just got the OK to make a base in my mom's boyfriend's backyard, which is where our trampoline shows and some of our ground matches are. The yard is much nicer than the old one, which was covered in dirt, mulch, and rocks.
I just want to know if you think these layers will be okay. Note the use of the word "okay", not "perfect". The base is meant to be one we can tear down and put in our shed after every use, so I'm not hoping it to be great. It might be a little small, because the focal point is two queen size mattresses, so the longest side possible would be about 13' if we lay the 5' sides next to each other, but we'll put the ~6.5' sides together, so that the base will be 10'x6.5', which is more even. Hopefully we can get two more queen size mattresses someday.
Layers:
Palates Mattresses Foam Plywood Carpet Tarp
Thoughts? Anything that would be unnecessary, like maybe the foam isn't needed if we already have mattresses? But I might want to keep it because one goal is to build more layers between the surface and the mattresses, because Tricky Stycks got injured taking a back suplex on a mattress because it was kind of old and so he went through it easier and hit the ground, making him... hurt a disc in his spine or some crap like that.

| Thanks, but we just want to know if my idea will be okay, as those materials are the easiest for us to acquire. |

| It's okay, yuou could do with out the foam though. And also try to replace carpet with underlay. It'll feel so much better. |

| What is this underlay? Someone said "underlay" in my last topic about building a base and when I asked about it, he just said it's any sort of padding.
[Edit] - Yeah, it was Jay and he said carpet is one form of underlay. |

| Bases are completely up to your own disgression... Who cares what anyone here thinks about it? Set it up and bump on it. If it bumps well, cool... If not, try again... That's how we did it... we just used matresses, ply wood, foam, and a tarp. Worked great. |
