| So last night I wrestled a match for Wrestling Past Present and Future against a guy named Marcus Crane... It was probably the best match I've ever had and I'm very proud of it. I plan on posting it in full on here by the end of the week maybe... Anyhow, the point is... I ended up getting kicked in the jaw right at the beginning of the match, which dislocated it, then quite soon after got pulled off the second rope Chris Hero style and got dropped right on my head, knocking me silly for a few minutes, then took a cut-throat lightning spiral later that gave me a nice concussion...
This made me think...
What kinda injuries have you gotten in wrestling?
This is my second concussion (if you want to see the video of the first look up "Kensei Ouch" on youtube) and my first dislocated jaw (which FUCKING SUCKS... No eating. Hurts to drink, take ibuprofen, talk, etc...) Otherwise I've managed to go without injury my whole career...
Share yours. Stories about the injury would be preferred. |

| The biggest one I've had is a was trying to do a Dragon Suplex to Khatonic into the base from the out side and he ended up landing full weight on my mouth and a split my lip in the middle. I finished the match because I couldn't feel anything until after the adrenaline wore off but for atleast a couple weeks I could seperate my lip which was actually kinda fun. |

| Was wrestling for 2XW in Pennsylvania. I was wrestling Ryan Brodie for the EWA World Championship in an interfed matchup. I went to go for the Killswitch (the Double Underhook Flipping Backcracker version), and I ended up breaking my neck. It was weird because I had never had a problem doing the move before, but on this particular day I did. As soon as I got my knees up on Brodie's back, something didn't feel right about it, it felt like I was stalling for some reason and I knew something bad was about to come from it. As soon as I landed, all I saw was a white flash. I layed still for a few moments trying to figure out if I was paralyzed or not. I started to lift my head up, it really didn't seem that bad (until later on when I was in the car on the way to the hospital), it just felt like I had a stiff neck.. I would've continued with the match, had my left arm not gone completely numb. I told Brodie that I couldn't feel my left arm and we just went straight to the finish. Apparently I fucked up my spine pretty badly and the C4 and C5 in my neck were out of alignment. Now as I sit here in my neck brace, typing this, I day dream about the day I can return to doing what I love to do, wrestle. |

| A couple minor concussions over the years. Split my wig when I wrestled Mavrick, and had a huge gash in my back when I wrestling Global Threat in 2006 that left nasty scars. Almost broke my back/neck when Urban gave me the trapper keeper off the roof. I couldn't move for a good 20 minutes, saw the white flash Mike Del talked about, and was numb in the legs for a little bit. Was sore for a good couple months.
Lasting injuries are on my knees and in my back/neck. My back in constantly stiff and almost always I have pain and heat sensations in my neck. I also get pain in my arms and wrists when I over-work them by doing the same thing for a long period of time, like talking on the phone, typing, playing video games, driving. |

| First concussion I got was from a wheelbarrow move that got botched. I was supposed to duck between his legs, causing him to face bump... He though I was taking the facebump, so he sat out... Well I landed quite directly on the back of my head, and saw that white flash everyone's been talking about... Next thing I know I'm waking up and trying to crawl to the ropes, and the bell's ringing... I thought I had botched taking the finish (a Here It Is Driver)... I was positive that's what had happened until I got to the back and was told otherwise. There's a good three minutes or so from the match that I don't have any memory of at all. I've been trying to get a hold of the video to see what it looks like when I wrestle completely unconscious... haha. Once I came to, it was really just a sore neck for a few hours, then I was fine. Scariest thing that's ever happened to me in wrestling... outside of wrestling is a different story... |
