| LOL anyone who knows Shane knows he is a great father. People that don't even like Shane all that much can't say a bad thing about him as a dad. Creating myths of his bad parenthood shows true ignorance. When you can't even reason an argument on something as how one innocently lives there life you shouldn't be anywhere near arguing politics. |

I do go to the gym, but its nice to hone your logical abilities every now and then as well. Stay sharp, you know. If there's no one around, antagonize.

I'm not working a job to please society, I'm working a job so I can survive. My life doesn't revolve around everyone else in the world, it revolves around myself, and my family. Call that selfish if you want, but I call it human nature. I'm striving torwards living life to the fullest one day, considering ya know? That it's MY LIFE! |
What do you do? That seems like a good place to start. And be careful about human nature. Sometimes I get the urge to stab people in the eye if they bump into me on accident. Thankfully, I know better than to act on it.
| Quote: | | Obviously going to the gym benefits myself, as that is the whole point in going. However, I do pay a gym membership which in turns helps out my gym as a business and I do take the time to help others in the gym who I can tell are inexperienced. |
How does the gym spend the money? They hire employees, which is good, but I find it hard to believe there is no better way to stimulate the economy with that money. If that was your goal, there are many other more efficient ways to do so. In fact, if you are only trying to stay healthy, then you wouldn't even need a gym membership. Considering you live in Florida and can be outdoors year round, it is very unnecessary. So if you don't need the gym to stay in good health, and your money could be better spent elsewhere, than the only reason to pay for a membership would be the heavy equipment. Of course, that would only be for vanity's sake. The assumption still stands.

Unless someone is a complete, worthless deadbeat, or if they know that they won't be able to provide for there child, then adoption is a great thing. However, this isn't the case and my son is greatly provided for. Adopting him out would only cause a mental harm on him later in life. |
Somewhere in New Hampshire there is an upper middle class couple begging to give everything in the world to your son. He will live in a beautiful home with a family that loves him just as much as you do. They will teach him everything he needs to know and send him to the best schools. He stays down-to-earth, yet is still given the best opportunities available. He will excel in everything, get into Yale, and meet the girl (or boy-- the gays will probably own New Hampshire by then {joke}) of his dreams. They get married, he cures AIDS, blah blah blah they live a disgustingly perfect life and he never knows an ounce of sadness. Certainly better than an average single parent household. And as repulsive as the image of that life is to me as a twenty year old male raised by cynics, I know that's the kind of life I wish I could give my children (that thankfully don't currently exist). Assumption still stands.
| Quote: | | I'm pretty sure that you, myself, and just about everyone on this site will never have any major effect on the world. That was an irrelevant point to make. I never claimed that being a dad made me a great person, but it most certainly is an important responsibility that I engage in. I'm sorry you know so many fuckups with kids, too bad I'm not one of them. In fact, you don't me at all thus making this whole arguement silly in the first place and further proving that you are an ignorant tool. |
I wonder how many fuckups know they're fuckups? Probably not too many. Either way, I don't really expect anyone on this board to have a major effect on the world. But I'm sure at least a couple have already have made a good effect in some small way. I work at a homeless shelter building programs for veterans. I also take food stamps ($200 a month) and receive my salary ($700 a month) from the government (aka society), but I like to think the work I do, the taxes I pay, and my contributions to local business even that out. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure you're a good person. Most people are, and I'm no better than them. You just aren't reaching anywhere near your potential, living like you do. It's not necessarily a bad thing. If nobody enjoyed life, then there would be no reason for those who work to make it better to keep doing what they do. On the other hand, you could also live a more socially responsible lifestyle, and still be just as happy. Maybe volunteer somewhere. Give your kid a better role model.

How long do you think it will be before he catches on?

I believe it. Can only happen if you try.

I don't know what myths you're talking about. I explicitly stated it was nothing personal (I know nothing about him) and that the statements may or not be true. I think you're lost. |
