| You dudes have alot to learn. ALOT.
- Use better music, your personal preference is great but this song has been overused since it was released. Try to find unique music that you enjoy as well.
- Build a base. You're young, the ground will ruin the rest of your life. If you have any questions on how to build a base, I'm sure just about anyone on here can explain. I understand it may be hard for kids your age to do such a thing, but it's in everyone's best interests.
- First match, try and work on match structure. It's gonna take a while to get that down, it'll come with time, you have to build to bigger moves instead of going right to them.
- If you must work a body part, always work the left unless it serves a purpose to work the right. The stomps to the knee around 40 seconds in, should have been on the left.
- Do less DDT's. Way less DDT's actually.
- Work on strikes. Punches or forearms need to look as real as you can get, the person taking them should not be flinching in fear. Learn to trust your opponents. Placement of the kicks, the little black kid did a spin kick at 1:12 in the lower back, he should be hitting the face or the back of the head. If he can't do it that high then he should bring the guy down lower for him, the guy taking it shouldn't just stand there waiting for it. Needs a setup, needs more selling from the receiver. Never anticipate.
- Work on bumping, if you must wrestle on the ground because you're not able to build a base, then you need to make your bumps clean. Back bumps, you back should be flat, legs in the air, chin tucked to your chest to avoid hitting your head on the ground, arms out, palms to the ground, aka slapping out. If you hit the ground with your back flat and your arms level with your back (not behind your back, that's how you break arms, kid.) it will reduce the impact of the bump making your life so much more easier.
- Armdrag at 1:30, this goes along with match structure. They've been going balls to wall so to speak. Kicks, bumps, bigger moves. Armdrag is a simple small move and should be done near the beginning of the match unless, again it has a purpose later on in the match (reversal of a move and so on.)
- Go big or go home. This goes hand in hand with bumping correctly, you should put 110% into anything you do. It could be lifting for a move, jumping for a move, or even kicking out of a pin. If you half ass anything in wrestling it looks sloppy, I've noticed it alot in this video. Double knees at 1:25, spinout powerbomb at 1:32, are both good examples. In some cases you may not be strong enough to pull a certain move off, so you should absolutely avoid ever doing that move.
- Avoid random "slams". Yes, this is wrestling but actual moves are what you want to stick with (slam onto the other kid at 1:40, this could be done but you'll need to learn how to perform a scoop slam properly.)
- Overall, the first match everyone needs to work on performing moves properly. Alot of sloppy bumps which could be prevented by practice. PRACTICE literally makes perfect. The way you kids are wrestling, someone is going to get hurt eventually.
- Match two, read everything I said for match one and keep it in mind as things to work on and it'll make this alot shorter for myself so i don't have to repeat anything.
- The headlock is on the wrong side, goes back to working the left. ESPECIALLY with chain wrestling. It must be done. Left arm should be wrapped around your head and the person should be standing on the right of you.
- Match structure/go big or go home - atomic drop.
- I like the pendulum. This is better than match one.
- After all the huge moves you hit, a knee to the back of the head finishes? Weak finish. Goes along with match structure.
You guys have ALOT of potential. Before you worry about match structure or anything you should work on the basics. Always the basics first. Bumping/Move Execution/SELLING - big thing I didn't mention much if at all, there was NO selling, you must look hurt/Strikes - Intensity - Placement - Realism. |
