My friends and I are getting into yarding and I want to know how the matches are put together. How do the wrestlers talk to each other in the match?

Are there code words that let each other know what to do?


Lets say I wanted to start out with a lock up and some holds how would that work?

Any help would be great.

Well, if you're in the beginning of the match, the lock up is kind of you know the first thing that happens. You should know that is happening. Chain holds, you really don't tell anyone anything, if you want them to reverse it squeeze their hand a little.

If you want to talk during the match, I either: Choke them and whle I am choking them I go down low and talk, or put them in a rest hold and whisper in their ear. (rest hold: chin lock)

Ok, so let say I have him in a hammer lock. When I squeeze their arm they turn it into a hammer lock?

How do I know what move there gonna do if they dont tel me? If I dont know I cant make it look good right?

Pretty easy man, just talk. If someone has you in a Suplex position, chances are they're Suplexing you. Most of the time spots are set up before a match and there will be a cue for it, so you'll know it's coming. If you have to call anything out there, just lift the guy up and as you're lifting him up get close to his face place and tell him what you're gonna do. Don't think about it too hard dude haha.

You're supposed to talk? I always thought I was supposed to just go out there and do shit...

Oh hey look, it's people having the BYWL mentality of not wanting to accept new people into the community, even though the people before them accepted them in. Wrestling is all about respecting those who come before you and paving the way for those that come after you, so shame on you guys really.

Now on subject. It's kind of hard to explain how to communicate in a match, through typing on an internet form. It's an art form really, as is working matches in general. It's something you'll get better at over time. You're best bet is to plan a decent amount of spots in your matches, and make sure you and the guy you're working are both clear of what all you're going to do before having the match, even if you have to go over it from top to bottom several times. When you get into the match, both of you will have a good idea of what's coming next, but look for ways to be able to talk to each other without being too noticable. Rest holds can work but they can also be extremely obviously. Put someone in a front face-lock, throw there arm of your head like you're going for a suplex, and you could call what you want to do from there - Fisherman, Brainbuster, Snap Suplex, Falcon Arrow etc. I'm giving you a few examples so you get the idea, but it's somehting you'll learn and get better at over time.

Most things are pre planned, I always try to plan every detail in my matches because im stupid and mess up easily so when I plan I plan everything so they know whats coming, like they said before talk when u have them in a suplex position, choke holds, I talk during pins and I almost always talk to the other during double down spots, which sometimes looks extremly obvious but you gotta really try to still sell it.

if your yarding, I always just loudly say spots but if your trying to be professional about it then try and whisper more.
