Just something I want to get off my chest. I find the term Underground Wrestling extremely gay. Its equally as gay if not more gay that calling the WWE lot ''Superstars' instead of wrestlers, because at least their a major company and are trying to make money.

Its also gay that this forum does not have the term backyard in the title. Now as far as Im aware their are no forums left for specifically for backyard wrestling. If you dont like backyard wrestling then why would you be on this site in the first place? Its not like any of the pro media on here is actually any good, and if you were real pros you would not be posting your pro media on here needing feedback. You would be asking for feed back from your pro colleagues.

Some of the pro stuff on here is pretty lack luster and some of it is enjoyable. People like Arbo, Andy, Cockstrong, etc work the Indy's on a consistant basis, but they also still enjoy yarding. Re-labeling the site Underground wrestling makes it alot harder for promoters and trainers to look up if their workers are yarding or not.

I don't see the point in bickering over a title. It doesn't change anything about the forum itself other than what it's called on the main pages. You're still going to see people refer to it as Backyard Wrestling, just like most people still say, "Who is your favorite wrestler?", not "Who is your favorite WWE Superstar?". I really don't see why it makes that much of a different. This is still the same forum it has always been, it's just worded differently on the main pages.

The very bottom forum on the main page is still listed as Backyard Wrestling.

Mask wrestling only hides somebody so well.

People will still find the site, and with amount of newcomers who are already on here, I think this site is good on newcomers for quite a while. There's still several other BYW forums out there. But at the end of the day, this is BYW's elite.

I still don't see what the big deal. The site itself has not changed at all other than the layout and the title. It's still the same damn thing.

I just find the term underground really snobby i suppose, like backyard trying to be something its not and in a mask you cant prove nothing I been in a mask for 3 years now and no one has ever had a clue. But basically UKBYW died on the basis they saw themselves as 'BYWelite' and didnt really welcome newcomers. Which is why there is only a couple of fed left in the UK now. Dont want to see it happen to another community.

History repeats itself. It happened here in the US as well. The BYWLink used to be THE site. Then those guys stopped caring as much, let go of the site itself, and it wasn't long before the site rose up. More than likely, there will come a point where Cam and co stop caring about this site, and another site will rise up. BYW will always live on no matter what. When we we're kids, I don't think any of us gave a fuck that WWE told us not to try this at home and I'm sure this next generation of kids feel the same way.

i have a few arguments. some of the best yarders in the world go on here. i have nothing against calling it underground wrestling.
most of the awesome supershows we do and have been doing are not typical byw. some of them are even in pro rings and venues. it is more underground wrestling than yard nowadays anyways.

ive been dealing with bullshit inthe indies since i decided to get somewhat trained 5 years ago. ive always tried to keep it a secret because alot of workers frown upon it and may treat u like shit becus of it.some of the upcomers on here, and the vets that still want to yard and do pro i think its respectable to call it this.
the best of byw series that came out twelve years ago ruined the face of byw forever.

doing what a lot of us have been doing for a long time, reinventing the shit, starting supershows with international matches and dream matches. weve revolutionized it a lot over the years.
we are far more than just byw wrestlers these days. maybe not to most people, but some of us will do something special, i know this.

if it helps the guys that need it to help its not a bad idea. i dont think its extremely gay and i think cam is a smart man for taking action. and tbh who gives a flying crap? r u mad u cant brag to ur friends ur post on a BYW forum, becus that is naturally what it is. but some of the things people do on here make shit happen. soon we will be accepting for what we do, and people will know we are much different than the garbage byw everyone is farmiliar with becus of the media and the bobyw series.

and wearing a mask sucks, especially in florida heat where i am most of the year. i am not going to wear a mask everytime i want to have fun with my friends and goof off in a backyard just becus i want to pro also. id rather not yard at al if that was the case

Indy Feds in Florida - ASW, Vintage Pro Wrestling, SCW, I BELIEVE IN WRESTLING, NFW, and L.I.V.E. are the ones I know of. Honestly though, Florida Indys are pretty crap.

in uwa we refer to it now as neighborhood sports entertainment. lol. the word backyard has gone to a place it can never be rescued from. tied down by every stereotype imaginable. stereotypes that will never go away because the people being stereotyped never look at themselves and ask how they can bend it or make it go away altogether. Frankly most of byw makes it easy to be stereotyped and the stereotypers are for the most part right in their critiques. but what if most byw feds were of quality, and they made it difficult to belittle. then we could change byw. but that will NEVER happen because some kid somewhere will put on black jeans and do a krypo crunch off his room thru a flaming table. and on top of all that not know that it is stupid. maybe we are something between byw and pro? maybe we have outgrown the yard, but are to smart for the cornfields (pro).

I've told other pro dudes who I work with taht I yard. Most of them are younger guys, they always respond with, "I don't care, as long as you are trained."

I could careless if you call it BYW, eating shit out of nuns asses or whatever else you want to call it. It's just a name, I will wrestle in arbo's moms backyard until we decide to call it quits.
