| My fed's was like 3/4 inch, but it broke after about a year of use. I recommend about an inch, maybe in between that and 3/4 inch if you can find it. _____________________ | tonyficaccio wrote: | not badass is ao and bushleauge. |

| They make 5/8 which is pretty sturdy, pretty positive they don't make 1'' but you could always double stack 3/4, or 5/8. My fed used 3/4 and we never had a problem but we packed our base up every show so the wood never got ruined.
They also sell pressure treated plywood which is a bit pricier but it's weatherproof so if you're going to leave your base out in the rain and whatnot, it's the way to go. The pressure treated stuff has a green tint to it, any home depot carries it.
Plywood's not cheap if you're going to do it the right way which is why people usually don't, but end up having to replace the wood and spending the same money anyway, so if I could suggest anything I'd say spend the money in the beginning if possible. You're looking at about 30 bucks a sheet(8x4) or pressure treated 3/4. Might be a bit more or less, but yeah.
And now that I see you're 14, you'll never be able to do it the right way, so enjoy. Half inch won't hold up, and neither will that shitty wood they peice together that looks like shit, good luck. |

| XWA base was 1/2 inch stuff. We tried 3/4 inch but it tended to crack easier because it was thicker. The 1/2 inch stuff was so flexible that it didn't crack til it got pretty old. Just bent.
