Dead Island's zombies aren't fully real zombies either. There's an entire group of them that are called "Infected" who aren't fully zombified but ragefully charge at you just like the 28 Days Later infected. The Chargers also aren't very zombified ever. And when you play the full narrative, SPOILER WARNING, you find out it's just a modified version of a virus similar to mad cow disease. It drives it's hosts insane and angry, causing them to attack and infect other humans, eventually kills them, and the reanimates them. So it's not really a full zombie virus either.

And Left 4 Dead had fluid combat, balanced multiplayer, great functioning co-op, a good soundtrack to compliment it's superb sound design, and no game-breaking glitches.

Dead Island is good, but please don't go overhyping it. L.A. Noire, Catherine, Portal 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and Bastion were all better games this year alone.

But it has walkers which, in my eyes, are zombies. Left 4 Dead was too short and bland, it was an Arcade title at best. Also early left 4 Dead before tons and tons of patches had game breaking glitches.

Dead island is the best Zombie game in a looooong time and that is opinion, what isnt is its one of the most dynamic ones out there. You didnt mention any zombie games, I think Uncharted 3 will take GOTY but Dead island is the best zombie experience for zombie fanboys in a very very long time.

I can agree with you there. Dead Rising 2 was a big letdown, and I don't consider CoD Zombies one since it's a game mode and not a full fledged game in itself.

Remember, Fallout games are hugely well recieved and those are the glitchiest games put on the market so people bashing dead island for it is silly.


Granted Fallout has an amazing story whereas dead island's was flat, but Left 4 Dead had no story so...still an improvement

Saints Row 3 is GOTY for me. I saw all the footage and the gameplay of it at E3 - 5 months before release - frame rates and graphics were all smooth as hell, gameplay is the silliest it's ever been (which is FANTASTIC) - I love the idea of running down the street whipping out a giant purple dildo, slamming some old lady with it, running down a dude and dropping him with a facecrusher into the asphault, and the posing for the crowd that just watched it happen - all shit that is doable in SR3. Plus Hulk Hogan is the voice of one of the Luchadores - that's right a whole gang made up of Luchador mask wearing gang-bangers.

It's going to be the MOST FUN game to come out this year. Might not be the best graphically or story (even though the story in 2 was pretty sweet) - but it will be the MOST FUN game to come out.

For those that care - EVERY melee weapon has an animation for knocking someone in the groin with it - Golf Club, Baseball bat, etc.

That's all well and dandy and I agree. It does look really good. I have high hopes for it. I've seen it all, too, but ever since GTA 4 was released, I am very skeptical when it comes to games. GTA 4 played like shit in my opinion and was a huge step down from their previous games. Never sacrifice good gameplay for better graphics. Saints Row 1 and 2 both played pretty well, and 2 was a big improvement from 1 overall. The total freedom seems awesome. Being able to bust out a wrestling move whenever is great, I hate games that hinder you with shitty game mechanics or make you move slowly. I want a fast and agile character capable of doing everything short of fucking Spider-Man! Hopefully they continue this with 3, without sacrificing how the game handles to make it "look" better. We will see though.

Just bought Dead Island, really enjoying it at the moment.

Totally can't wait for Uncharted 3 and Need For Speed: Run. Probably the only two titles I'll buy for the remainder of the year. Maybe the new WWE game too, if it lives up to the hype.
