the good dr. and i just got really high and watched the 82 directors cut version. the thing is a great movie and a carpenter masterpiece 2nd only to halloween. skin horror at its best. no special effects, everything you see is done with human hands. as for this remake of a remake.....im disappointed that a female is in it....and not only is she in it she is the lead role. they had to have done this on purpose. i will watch it however.

As much as I'm excited to see this, it's just reminding me that I was a remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Yes,I see where your coming from with this but these are a few counterpoints.A woman being the lead is a little ehh but it's a twist in this movie so your not seeing the same story over again. In the trailer you did not see much of the thing so who's to say that there only going to use special effects for the thing. My biggest point is it sucks when a movie trailer is awesome and than when you go and see it your like I watsed 12 dollars on this hunk of shit? When in this case the trailer looks ok but when you see the movie it matchs up the hype for it.
But yes I will give it a chance and watch it when it debuts.

John Carpenter's version was SOOOO much better than the original. I'm interested how this one will come out.

Wasn't 85% of this board nut stains in 1982?
I think the female role will be something different, it wont compare to the original remake of a remake, like Tek said but none the less should be a good watch.

I thought I read somewhere that it's actually not a remake but a prequel? Either way the original was awesome with David Keith and Kurt Russell. No one on the new cast is anywhere near their talent levels - then or now. There were a LOT of special effects used in that film, just not much in the ways of CGI. One of my favorite films growing up.
