I have no problem with people's lifestyles. It is their own choice. I have friends that are straight edge and I have friends that drink and smoke. But Patrick brought up a good point with the people that boast about it, example being my idiot brother. It just gets annoying sometimes. But I drink, I have tried pot before, don't like it that much. I am somebody that would rather drink in social situations and have a good time doing it (ex. WrestleFezt X). I don't hate on people that have different morals or values than me. It's whatever floats your boat.

This. Also, something I'd like to add is not only people who boast about it, but people who complain when others do it. I've been at parties where someone who doesn't drink or smoke will just sit there and complain about the people who do the whole time. It's obnoxious. Do what you want and worry about you. Don't try to push your ideas (whether you're against it or for it) on other people. Just do you.

Straight edge isn't a fad. The actual label of it has been around for over 30 years now.

A lot of people bitch about straight edge kids "looking down" on you, or hating on you. I will say, pretty much all of my friends drink or smoke. I've never looked down on them. I can't tell you how many times I've been made fun of, embarrassed, or otherwise harassed, because I chose to not do something. It's a two way street, and your lane is a little bit wider.

Anyone who bitches about kids wearing sXe shirts or having sXe bumper stickers: It's the same as wearing a shirt with your favorite beer brand, or a bumper sticker that says "legalize it."

Anyone who bitches about artists using straight edge lyrics: It's the same as writing songs about "gettin tipsy"

Anyone who asks WHY I'm straight edge: I don't ask why you blame every awful thing you do on being wasted

hell, i drink, i smoke..but i don't think i'm awesome because of it. i also don't hate people for doing it.

i agree with joey a lot with his post. i hate the fuckers that want pot legalized because they think it doesn't do anything wrong.

it's your life, live it how you want to...just don't bitch when people try to be different.

Let me hit ya with some knowledge. Beer hydrates you as much a a can of pop/soda/sodapop. Alcohol is a diuretic which causes the body to lose water. It causes your kidneys to not be able to adsorb sodium. When sodium is lost water must go with it making you dehydrated.

For the most part I'm a goody tooshoes but it pays off, I can actually afford an HDTV over a bag of pot that will expell in 2 days and not ahve to worry about having my TV stolen. Plus Im very against the worldwide drug trade crime and violence. I know most of you are teenagers and dont give a shit about anything not taking up time in your little world but yeah, I do.

I found a void in your argument, I have a 50'' Plasma I bought, a 2007 Mustang, A Keg, and a bag of pot.

most of the time it was easier for them to just drink beer then to find/make clean water. the romans all drank wine over water....and there are many other examples. not to mention it helped to lubricate a terrible existence. i am a history major.................uhg.

I agree with most things said here. I drink alot and at many of times wish i didnt and ive smoked before and regreted it soon after. I give edge people alot of credit because they are able to fade out of the norm. I just hate people that brag about wat they do, like most teenagers will do, and people who say the are straight edge but well drink,smoke or watever.
